2020 was a rough year for tech conferences. Particularly in-person conferences. We were very fortunate that the situation in Perth was largely under control by November. This allowed the team at Mechanical Rock to push on with hosting Latency Conf with a cast of all-local speakers including a really great locknote by Coach Adam Simpson from the West Coast Eagles.
I talked about an AWS Step Function I made to automate the sanitisation and copying of a production database snapshot.
